Happy new year. Although I had hoped we would be kicking off the start of 2021 a little differently, the past few days have left me in no doubt that as an industry and community the Moreton Bay Region will continue to defy the odds. The recent three-day lockdown was a decisive move from the Queensland Government and has fortunately been successful, meaning we can return to some normalcy after a very short restrictive period.
Moreton Bay Region businesses continue to demonstrate determination, resiliency and adaptability, and I am proud to call this part of the world my home.
Since the pandemic was first declared, the Moreton Bay community has united through a number of MBRIT lead initiatives such as:
More recently, MBRIT was proud to partner with USC on a research project that sought to explore resilience and innovation of regional businesses with Moreton Bay, and examine the social and economic impacts of the pandemic. Initiatives such as this are crucial in helping us understand responses and outcomes and be better positioned to respond to future landscape-changing events.
Through greater understanding and knowledge share of our region’s experiences, resiliency and innovative response, we can be better prepared to plan and respond to future challenges.
I hope the year ahead is a fruitful and prosperous one for you, your business and customers. We look forward to working closely with you as you prepare to embark on the road to recovery. We hope to accompany and learn with you along this journey. Together, we can look forward to a bright and prosperous future. Go #TeamMoretonBay!
