Bigger and better Sesame Lane Kippa Ring on the horizon

Sesame Lane Kippa Ring has been undergoing some major renovations over the last three months - stage one of the renovations has now opened, 15 years to the day that Sesame Lane Kippa Ring 1 opened its doors for the first time.

Over a six-month period, Sesame Lane Kippa Ring 1 and Kippa Ring 2 services will undergo a dramatic transformation, resulting in the combination of the two services into one newly renovated service, becoming Sesame Lane Kippa Ring – Regency Street.

Stage one of the renovations have been now completed with the children thoroughly enjoying their new rooms and playgrounds, which are complemented by the children’s favourites - the trampoline and swing set.

Once the two stages are complete the first stage will be home for the juniors (Nursery, Toddlers and Junior Kindy) and the seniors (Senior Kindy and Kindergarten) will move to the second stage.

As part of the renovations there are all new classroom configurations, new flooring, new cabinetry new bathrooms, complete fresh coat of paint (inside and out), new resources for the children to enjoy, and a new state-of-the-art kitchen for all the daily fresh made meals.

Kippa Ring – Regency Street will also be decked out with an amphitheatre for performances from the children that they have learnt in the inclusive Red Music Mini Stars music and drama program.

Stage two is scheduled to be completed and due for a grand opening on 20 January 2018, which also so happens to be the 30-year anniversary of the very first Sesame Lane to open its door.

Sesame Lane opened its doors in January 1988 and has grown significantly since the first Service, Sesame Lane Redcliffe, going from one 40 place service to now catering for up to 3,000 Happy Healthy Learners.

Looking into the future, the growth and vision for Sesame Lane has not slowed, in fact, plans are being made to expand further into the community and have services in all key areas of the Moreton Bay Regional Council area, including another three services in the next 18 months.

Community invitation

Sesame Lane families and the community are all invited to have a look at the new Kippa Ring – Regency Street Service on the 20 January 2018 from 4.30pm, where rides, entertainment and food will be available for all.

As the sun starts to go down there will be a cutting of the birthday cake to celebrate Sesame Lane’s 30th birthday, followed by an outdoor cinema screening of Despicable Me 3.
