About this Event

Hosted by the Multicultural Association of Caboolture and Surrounds Inc. and presented by Organisational Development Consultant Gigi Lacey, this FREE governance training is designed to educate leaders and organisational members about the elements and importance of governance.

Gigi, an experienced Consultant with a demonstrated history of working in the for-purpose community services world, will take attendees through the key elements of organisational governance; touching on subjects of ethics, risk management, compliance and administration.

Upon conclusion, participants will receive resources to assist them further in their respective organisations. Furthermore, each participant will receive a Certificate of Participation.

What Else Will Participants Learn?

  • General responsibilities of the management committee.
  • Rules and requirements of the Associations Incorporation Act.
  • Calling and holding meetings.
  • Etiquette and acting in the best interests of the association.
  • Properly exercising care, skill and diligence in carrying out your roles.
  • What governance issues do non-profit boards face? Specific topics may include:
  • Having a clearly defined purpose and strategic direction?
  • Understanding the role of your board.

Funded by Moreton Bay Regional Council and facilitated by Multicultural Association of Caboolture and Surrounds Inc., this training represents the ideal opportunity for attendees to kick their organisation back into gear and get it operating to optimum, especially moving into a post-COVID era.
