Farm Business Management Skill Set

Seminars

Strengthen your farm business management skills

There are many advantages to having a business plan in place, particularly when dealing with your bank, business partners and employees. For many farm business managers the value becomes most obvious following a devastating event like a flood.

Getting a business back up and running after a such an event is stressful enough without having to find business documents, locate insurance policies and get cash flow projections up to date in order to fill out government grant and loan applications.

It can be far easier to manage, and less stressful, when you have all this information in one, accessible place - within your business plan.

To help farm business managers to develop a robust business plan and be better prepared, the Queensland Agriculture Workforce Network (QAWN) is facilitating a four-day Farm Business Management training course.

This statewide training initiative is being delivered in key regional areas and is a collaborative initiative between QAWN, NQ Powertrain and the Queensland Agriculture Training Colleges (QATC), using state government funding from the Higher Level Skills Fund to subsidise the training for eligible participants.

The Farm Business Management Skill Set involves the completion of four agribusiness units and covers business planning, budgeting, risk management and succession planning.
