Visitor Information Centre goes mobile

Posted 2 August 2017

Visitor Information Centres (VICs) play a vital role in showcasing all there is to see and do in the Moreton Bay Region.

That’s why, together with Moreton Bay Regional Council, MBRIT has unveiled the region’s brand new mobile VIC.

Standing an impressive 13 metres long and nearly 4 metres high, the former mobile library can’t be missed, wrapped in colourful branding.

It will be used at events throughout South East Queensland, distributing information and sharing our slice of paradise with the rest of the world.

Visitors and locals can come on board the newly refurbished VIC-on-wheels at some of MBRIT’s upcoming events, including KiteFest, Jetty Fiesta and Redcliffe Remembers.

Drop in and say hi to one of the many friendly faces in our growing team of volunteers!

Local insight

The Moreton Bay Region is currently home to eight VICs accredited through Tourism and Events Queensland and staffed by volunteers, located at Bribie Island, Caboolture, Woodford, Strathpine, Clontarf, Redcliffe and Samford.

Earlier this year, MBRIT took on the operation of the region’s network of accredited VICs as part of its ongoing collaboration with the Moreton Bay Regional Council.

The move follows a consistent approach in other tourism hotspots throughout the state, including Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Noosa, Cairns and Bundaberg.
