Last year’s USC Young Entrepreneur winner, awarded as part of the Moreton Bay Region Business Excellence & Innovation Awards, has teamed up with a fellow finalist to create a networking group for young founders.

Eva Porter, of landscaping business Porter Designs, and JR Media’s Jessica Ricketts have launched the ‘Young Founders Collective’, running with the support of The Hills & Districts Chamber of Commerce.

Ms Porter says it will be a hub for young founders on the north side of Brisbane to create friendships with like-minded people.

Calling for individuals aged between 18 and 35 years, the group will be a place for people to access valuable business support and resources, all the while encouraging others in their endeavours.

So, what inspired the two entrepreneurs?

“Jess and I would catch up over coffee every month last year, as we didn’t have any friends who were young like us and in business that ‘got us’,” Ms Porter said.

“We both grew from that support we gave each other, and we wanted to share this opportunity for growth with others like us.”
