Nominations are now open for the 2019 Moreton Bay Australia Day Awards and council is calling on locals to nominate someone they think is deserving of recognition for their community, sporting, environment or cultural achievements.

Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Allan Sutherland said there were residents achieving greatness across Moreton Bay.

“From supporting our community’s most vulnerable, to caring for our local environment and even representing our region on the national and international stage,” Mayor Sutherland said.

“They are our local heroes whose actions, which in many cases are unrewarded, inspire our community to be better,” he said.

Moreton Bay Region’s Australia Day Awards provide an opportunity to recognise the efforts and achievements of these amazing people.
