Business Excellence and Innovation Awards

The inaugural Moreton Bay Region Business Excellence and Innovation Awards aim to support commercialisation, business development, innovation and collaboration in the Moreton Bay Region.

Given the importance of innovation and business success to regional economies, this program also provides branding and awareness opportunities for our region, as a centre for innovation and business accomplishment.

Major Awards

Community Group of the Year

Open to not-for-profit organisations delivering outcomes that benefit the community. These entities may operate social enterprises, deliver social services or undertake charitable work.

Business of the Year

The winner of this prestigious award is selected by the judges based on feedback and recommendations regarding the most outstanding winner of the categories.

Award Categories

Successful Start-Up

This category is open to successful businesses that have commenced operations in the last one to three years.

Customer Service Excellence Award

This award reflects excellence in customer service across business. It is open to all businesses who go above and beyond in their field to offer an exceptional product or service for consumers.

Exporting Excellence Award

This award is open to businesses that can demonstrate best practice in export, in any industry or sector.

Environment & Sustainability Excellence Award

This award recognises businesses and organisations that have made a strong commitment to environmental improvement as part of their day to day operations.

Innovation Excellence Award

This award is open to businesses and organisations that can demonstrate the ability to adapt to operating environments, e.g. changes resulting from globalisation, new industry and retail trends and practices, government legislation, trade agreements, entrepreneurial practices.

Youth Innovation Excellence Award

This category is open to young people aged 14-18 years of age to encourage and recognise young innovators who have developed innovative programs, practices, activities and solutions.

Business Marketing Excellence Award

This award is open to businesses and organisations that can demonstrate sustained marketing excellence that has driven business improvement over time.

Young Entrepreneur Excellence Award

This award recognises an inspirational young person aged between 18-35 years who, through their own commitment and passion, has built and operates a successful business.

Building a Stronger Community Excellence Award

This category is open to organisations that deliver strong, community-based initiatives that positively impact on, and deliver long-term benefits for, the community.

Visitor Experience Excellence Award

This award is open to tourism and hospitality businesses and organisations that can demonstrate their commitment in consistently delivering an exceptional visitor experience which allows them to stand out from their competitors.

Employee of the Year Award

Designed to recognise outstanding employees who have excelled in their line of work. Applications for this category can only be submitted by an employer or colleague of the person who is being acknowledged. The nominee must have worked with the organisation for a minimum of 12 months).
